On May 2, 2024 I phoned Cincy Gutter Boys which I understand is under the Ned’s **** umbrella, to clean my gutters. They finally showed up on June 20, 2024. I was not home when they came, but they texted they were coming. When I arrived home, I noticed one of my shrubs was damaged. I then decided to look at my video doorbell footage and was shocked when I saw their ladder crash onto my front porch, damaging my handrail, two shrubs and the flower pots I had on the porch. It also knocked a coach light crooked. It also showed them dragging their hose through my shrubs. Nobody from the company bothered to let me know this happened. I called the company and told them. I was treated like it was not a big deal. No apology was forthcoming. They said to get estimates for repairs. Estimates for the handrail are not available as it was a gift and was installed in April 2024. I sent information about the cost of new shrubs, but that wasn’t good enough for them. They want written estimates. The online prices were not good enough. I felt like they were just trying to get me off the phone. I told them to remove me from their “Diamond Plan” which offers a discount for recurring services. After the shoddy work they performed, I am not even sure my gutters are clean. I want my money back and I want nothing more to do with a company who doesn’t have any interest in customer service. Their attitude leaves a lot to be improved upon. I will tell friends about the bad job/service so nobody I know will use them. When I asked for the owner’s name, I was basically told the name is a secret. What kind of a company is this? I would like a refund since they offered no other compensation for the damages they caused. I sent the videos to them on 6-27-2024.

Crew came out on November of 2022 and cleaned my gutters. I didnt check anything, as they have cleaned them several times befor. In the early spring of 2023, I found my front lower gutter damaged, dented and scratched. These are 5 gutters which are 4 years old. I told customer service that no other work was done after or before these guys came out in November. I was told that I should have called back in November and they would in no way accept responsibility They also found mold on *******? needless to say, I canceled all future cleanings. Do not trust this company!!!

Upon review of the photos there is no way a ladder could have cause this damage, the ladder is placed on the top of the gutter, not the middle. There is a lot of damage to the within a year of the service being performed.

Contacted company to clean gutters. While making appointment salesman attempted to have me sign up for multiple services. Crew arrived to clean gutters. I received a call from *** Stevens that they could not complete the cleaning unless I paid a additional $75 for removal and discard of gutter guards. This was not discussed when making appointment. I agreed as they were already here and I was about to travel for an extended period. During the gutter cleaning crew removed a leader and down spouts damaging attachment straps and drilling unnecessary holes in the siding on my home. I saw the damage afterwards as the crew left without advising. I made several calls over several days requesting the straps be replaced with new. These only cost about $1 each and there are only two straps. I merely wanted what was there prior to their cleaning. A crew was sent the next day, however they did not speak English, attempted to do something I didn’t request, and I could not communicate my simple request to them. They called their manager who I subsequently spoke with. After 10 minutes of argument about who’s fault this was, I told him we would resolve this in small claims court. The crew left. I received a call from *** Stevens shortly after. In short, I agreed to have them send a crew the following day as long as the crew knew what they were there to do and that they could speak English, so I could communicate with them what needed to be done. The next crew arrived. When I showed the crew member what the issue was, he began talking about my fascia board, which has nothing to do with the issue. He also stated that the mangled leader straps didn’t matter and that it was ok. I told him that it mattered to me and told him to leave. I gave this company two opportunities to correct their poor workmanship. Clearly they are incapable. The employees do not accurately record information and attempt upsells. There is no accountability.

Ned Stevens gutter cleaning showed up to my property unannounced in early fall. They completed a gutter cleaning service, even though the house sits in a clearly heavily wooded areas. Most the surrounding trees still had a majority of the leaves on them, This was all easily visible. When the leaves began to fall, they clogged the gutters, Rendering the service they did useless. This fall we’ve had record rain. The clogged gutters cannot keep up, and for the first time we’ve had water issues inside our house, causing property damage. Ive called *** Stevens multiple times over multiple months. They promise they will be out “any day now” or in **** business days. They have failed to show up every time.

Cleaning your gutters is critical to ensure the gutters are working properly. Most of our service plan customers do 2 to 3 cleaning every fall season. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused but we don’t think crediting a bill is fair..

On 10/24/23, *** Stevens workers claimed to have cleaned my gutters when in actuality they were unable to get access for cleaning the gutters. An alert that ****** Crew was in route to clean my gutters. However, I was in a meeting and did not see the message until later that afternoon. I arrived home and found a notice that gutter service was complete but there was an issue. I called and spoke to ****. **** described stains on a roof and the charge for cleaning. I explained that I first needed evidence of the work gutter work performed, unless it was a mistake. However, **** emailed an invoice for $149 and placed the call on a long wait. He returned and said, I just sent the photo to your email. I replied, This is not evidence, as its just a photo of the front of my house. He then sent another, but one had malware. I requested that his manager call me given that they were unable to provide evidence of the service provided. On or about 11/1/23, the manager called and agreed to send someone to take photos to show that the workers had indeed cleaned the gutters on 10/24. On 11/18/23, I received a text message that *********** was in route to my home. I answered the door and the workers proceeded to the backyard. They waited while I unlocked my gate. Once entered, they placed a ladder over my deck and climbed up with a leaf blower. They staged the gutters appearance by blowing around standing leaves and then took photos.****** Crew never was on my roof, because I was not home to unlock the gate for entry on 10/24, but they sent an invoice for service.I asked the manager to call to discuss after ****** Crew came out on 11/18, but never heard from *** Stevens until 12/14, when ******** an Account Executive called to collect for an unpaid debt. Such practices are concerning to say the least. There is no account or tracking number because the malware erased their invoice and emails surrounding this fiasco of a service.

This issue has been ongoing since August. I contacted *** Stevens because I have used them in the past with no issues. I called to request a gutter cleaning, chimney cap and an issue with a gutter coming down in front of the house, The worker they sent completed the first two issues but did not speak English and could not complete the job because he couldn’t understand me. I called and requested someone who spoke English. In response 2 more crews arrived who did not speak English and did not understand what to do. When I called I was told that the front gutter needed to be replaced and needed 2 downspouts. Since *** Stevens actualiy confirmed by phone that they installed that gutter last year it was still under warranty and there would be no charge.but they would have to order the part. They also agreed to hold the bill until it was complete. On 9/2/23 I recieved an email with a bill and another saying that no further service was scheduled! Important to note that I also lost a better contract on my homeowners insurance because the inspector told me the gutter was pulling away. I am furious! When I called at the end of last month I talked to a manager who said she had a hard time following the notes herself but assured me it would be completed and the downspouts would be installed. Another manager called me a few hours later to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the gutter and nothing would be done. I still have not paid the bill. I once thought *** Stevens to be a reputable company. Not now. There can be no communication between myself and this company because there is such an extreme disconnect among themselves. 20 phone calls result in 20 answers contradicting each other. I would simply like to have this job completed so that I may pay the bill and be done with them. Hopefully I can resolve this matter without turning to the PA **** of ****** Thank you.

We sent an install crew to review the job. The work done is perfect, but there is an issue with the customer’s roof. I am happy to have my installation manager meet the customer at her home to go over any issues she is having. We left a message for the customer today via phone call offering this.

*** stevens blocked my front door with a ladder and started to rain debris on my head when I tried to alert them my daughter and dogs were outside. I was told on the phone that I would not be billed. They billed me. I dont want a discount on a future service. I dont trust them to be safe at my home anymore. I was told by a supervisor, after 20 years of being a customer, that they are not required to wait for a homeowner to respond and are free to knock and work at will. This is dangerous practice.

My crews knocks on the door as a courtesy. Since most of my customers are not home when work is provided, they do not wait for the knock to be answered. My team did the job the customer ordered in full and the complaint does not warrant a full refund for service rendered. We offered a very fair discount, up to splitting the bill 50/50. That is more than fair. For this customer to speak rudely to one of my managers and then submit this complaint is unwarranted.

I got an email from this company about their gutter services I contacted them in late Dec. 2022 to for more info. I got a quote on 12/30/22 after submitting my request for pricing and timing via email. They offered me q $35 discount if I booked a service now for a future date. I agreed and said sometime after the holidays I’d contact them to book. They required a credit card to give the credit so I gave them one (#****). I called them in early Jan. and told them friends did gutters so I’d need to move their ************** suggested ****. I agreed. I got distracted with home maintenance problems & for got to cancel. Meanwhile I found ********************* Washing in mid-April & hired them to do the job based on VG reviews and cost. They completed the work on 04/14/23 and did an excellent job. I received a text from their techician **** who told me his arrival time. He was on time and he and I looked at the gutters together so I could get a sense of what he’d do and to tell him to move all debris to the ***** behind my house. Meanwhile one of my most used credit cards was scam charged for $80 and the issuer said it would cancel the card and investigate the scam. I decided to also cancel my 2nd most used card #****. I forgot I’d given it to ******** to do the job or I would have contacted them to cancel the work targeted for **** & that #**** had been cancelled. I got an email from them on 7/20/23 saying payment for their “work” was due. I was surprised to hear from ******** that I owed them for their work done on 7/20 & called them to say there was no work to be done since I’d had another *** do the work and their was nothing left in the gutters. They had said that their person would text me their arrival time and let me know when they arrived. I was home most of the day and got no info from them. I didn’t agree to have them do the work since it had been done already. I didn’t pay their bill and said I was providing this info to the ** BBB.

I booked a gutter cleaning and extenders to be added to downspouts by contacting guttermaid , an entirely different company . At no point was I told that the work would be conducted by *****************************. Once gutter cleaning was completed no pictures of the inspection of the gutters was provided as guaranteed on the guttermaid website . In addition, the work carried out was incomplete . Extenders were never added to the down spouts . I feel defrauded by ***************************** since I contacted guttermaid not *** Stevens. *** Stevens is using the guttermaid name and not telling anyone that they are hiring a different company. I would like a complete refund.

I am rejecting this response because:
I did not receive any of the inspection services promised on the guttermaid website. Honest work would have been exposing at very beginning when I contact the number for guttermaid was that *** Stevens acquired it. I requested the service thinking I would be getting service from guttermaid and their inspection services to include images of the inspection. In addition , I requested myself to have the extenders for downspouts due draining issues which I clearly explained during my first call. I got nothing that I requested and feel cheated . I just want a refund which what I deserve based everything that occurred. Your response was not helpful at all. You should not be using the guttermaid site as it confuses the public about where they are doing business.

I am rejecting this response because:

The job is once again incomplete. The extended downspout on the left side of the house was made too short, dumping the water in in a planter rather than the pathway, which dumps water towards the house. This problem was was verified by a professional.I mentioned this issue, its in the notes in my account , but was ignored. The downspout needs to be extended by a few inches to bridge the gap and ensure the water dumps in a pathway.Does it really require 6 crews to get the job right ? I should not have to call so many times , Id like a credit to be issued back to my card for all the hassle . It should not require so much effort from me to make sure I get what I asked and paid for . Yet you offer nothing to make it right for the continuous issues. I want my account closed and credit card removed .

I am rejecting this response because:

To date the return visits have still not corrected issues with work performed and lack there of. A downspout extension was cut too short on the left side of the house which dumps into a flower bed rather than the pathway to ensure water moves away from the house. An extension of a few more inches to bridge the gap is needed. The last crew that showed up and left not correcting the issue which I have told your company several times but there continues to be an issue with following very basic instructions and claiming work is complete when no work is performed. Water damage is an issue at the residence which is why the work needs to been done correctly, ensuring all water moves away from the house rather than towards the house. Youve been told about this issue .

** scheduled with *** Stevens for **dnesday, November 30th. No one showed up, nor contacted us. ** called them and could not get through, so left messages, first asking if they were still going to show up, and next when no one showed up by dusk, asking to reschedule. ** stated that we could not schedule for the next day because we had two other services being performed, including emergency septic system. The next morning, we received a text stating that someone would be coming that day. Because the text says that you cannot respond by text, we called as instructed, waited on hold for a long time, and finally talked to a rep. ** stated that we could not accommodate another service. The rep assured us that they would arrive after 2 PM, when at least one of our other services would be complete and they would have left. ** were not happy with this solution but we accepted it.Instead, we received another text almost immediately saying they were on their way. This is around eight forty five. ** called again, waited on hold again, and I spoke to a rep who said she would “email” them and that if she could not get ahold of them, she would call me back.After receiving no call, a little while later I heard the sound of clomping on our roof. The gutter cleaners had come with no warning, and parked in the very beginning of the driveway so that no other cars or trucks could get in. I called again, waited on hold, and spoke to “******” who offered no apology and stated that I should go out and tell them to leave. For reasons of disability and age, neither I nor my mother could rush out and yell at people on the roof.During this time, the leaf removal people arrived and had to park illegally across the street. The plumber arrived but had to drive away as he could not park his heavy equipment. He called us, we told him what was going on, and he came back and told them to leave. On their way out they put a few heavy bags on the street instead of throwing them away.

I am rejecting this response because: They did not even acknowledge let alone apologize for all their wrongdoing. “Crediting” us for the “job” is not the magnanimous gesture they seem to think it is. They failed to bother showing the day they were actually scheduled. We told them explicitly NOT to come the next day, repeatedly and to multiple reps. they were kicked out rightfully before completing the job, and they left random trash in the middle of the street. It does not sound like they are going to learn anything from this or do better in the future.

I was incorrectly charged for a subscription service in the past, which I believed was cancelled. I paid for what was to be a single service, but turned into a different subscription. When I turned their workers away today being told it was a mistake AND talking to someone on the phone to have everything cancelled, I still have an invoice saying A. Work was completed (the only work they did was pick up their ladder, which I had them put back right away) and B. That I owe them ******, which also doesn’t line up with what is stated on “My Account” page with them. I’d like this charge removed as swiftly as possible.

I used *** Stevens gutter services in the summer of 2021 for gutter cleaning. They had called after that appt to schedule a visit for 11/23/2022. On the day of the visit I canceled the service because I was having work done at my home. The gutter service was not done on 11/23/2021. I then cancelled further service from *** Stevens. Today, 4/12/2022 they arrived at my home and we did not accept the service. I called the office and was advised that even though I had cancelled the service, the attempted service today was a “courtesy” visit because I had a balance due for services rendered 11/23/2021. I tried to explain that services were never done on 11/23/2021 and was advised that I had an outstanding balance. I asked to speak to a service manager and was placed on hold for 15 min and then advised that the manager was not available to discuss the situation. I did leave my name and contact information to receive a return call. I have a concern that although I have cancelled the gutter cleaning services and tried several times to stop the scheduling further appointments that *** Stevens will submit an invoice for payment for services that I never received. I have not been able to resolve this matter with the office staff and it is my hope that BBB will be able to assist me.

ON 12/27/21, the technician from this company showed up to clean my gutters, but negligently pulled up my gutter guards damaging them despite the fact that I explicitly told the company that I wanted the gutters to be flushed with water. I immediately called the company and spoke to ***** who stated that the Quality Control team would come back and secure the guards. I made a follow-up call on 1/14/22 speaking to ****** who stated that they would respond within the next few days. Another month passes without resolution; I then sent a Certified letter on 2/17/22 which they received on 2/22/22. They returned to my home but did not fix the problem. I called then speaking to ****** who stated that there was nothing they can do.

Our crew performed a gutter guard sweep and did not lift or raise the customer’s ********************** guards. We offered in good faith to send a crew back out to attempt to repair the customers gutter guards. Due to the type of guards and how they have been installed on the home, our team was not able to repair them. It was expressed to the customer that we did not damage the covers and we would send a team to attempt a fix in good faith.

I am rejecting this response because: They did in fact pull up the gutter guards despite my instructions NOT to do this – They are lying about not doing this; their performance right from the beginning has been a HORROR SHOW as outlined in the attached Certified letter to them.In fact, on 12/27/21 ***** said that they would send a team to re-attach them. They had the nerve to **** my Credit Card after damaging my home.

I am rejecting this response because: This business did contact me in regard to this and offered to reimburse me for the repair in the amount of $150. This would be fine with me except that they didn’t even perform the service of cleaning out my gutters effectively. I offered to accept that if they would come back and clean the debris from the gutters without damaging my guards, a service which I paid for; they refused to do that. Alternatively, they refunded the cost of the service. Net result: I am back where I started from — gutters filled with debris and a **** for $150 to fix the damage they caused. I will now have to get another company to do the job. I would expect the BBB to retain this file and share with anyone inquiring about this company. They sure don’t deserve a A+ rating; it seems acredidation buys that rating.

We did offer and refund the $150 to ****************. The customer has permanently mounted ********************** covers. It was explained to him when he booked that we would do the best we could to service the gutters, but because of the type of covers he has, we cannot guarantee the service.

I am rejecting this response because: As I stated in my last response, they at first offered to refund the $150 for the repair, but instead refunded the cost of the service, a slightly higher amount. When I first booked this service, I was told that the gutter guards would be NO PROBLEM. They did NOT say that they do not guarantee the service. There is still much debris in the gutters. The end result is debris filled gutters and a $150 **** to repair. While I appreciate the fact that they refunded the cost of the service which was not done satisfactorily, it still leaves me with a **** for the repair which they caused.

They invoiced me for a service that was declined and are now sending the invoice to a collections agency to ruin my good credit. 1) I do not have a written contract with them to infinitely service my home unscheduled and unannounced; 2) They came by for a gutter cleaning which I immediately stopped because I had gutter guards installed and also solar panels installed which would impede any gutter service from happening;

12/6/2021 *********** came onto property with no notification. Business claims to send a text prior to arrival within the hour. Text is received after workers are on my roof. No knock or doorbell ringing. They went into my backyard, which is fenced with no notice while my wife was bathing in our hot tub. Upon calling the business to take responsibility for unprofessionalism and breakdown of their automated system, they had no response or compromise and supported their workers.

Our text messaging feature is an automatic text that is send when the crew is on their way to the home. We apologize if there was a delay in the text message but we cant control the cell phone carriers. At the end of the the day we performed a gutter cleaning at the home which is what we were hired to do. We are an honest and reputable business. Our manager also offered to discount $25 off the **** for whatever inconvenience this may have cause you as a fair resolution. Crediting the **** entirely is not fair.

A *** Stevens truck ran over my mailbox. Then they left. Its a hit and run. I called *** Stevens to try to settle this out of court. They were very responsive and accepted fault for the damage. Once I provided the invoice for the replacement mailbox (just under $400), theyve stopped responding. Now I have to press charges and *** them and its such a time consuming thing to do for something that would have been simple.

A year ago I agreed to have *** Stevens gutter cleaners service my gutters for a one year period. They email me frequently with offers and marketing of various kinds. I checked my credit card ****, and *** Stevens billed my credit card in $589 without my authorization for (I suppose) a second year of service. Since they did not contact me, I am left to assume this. I never agreed to a second year of service, and they never contacted me asking 1) if I wanted a new year of service, or 2) if they could charge my credit card.Is this a lifetime agreement wherein I am to be charged behind my back without my approval for life? I want my money refunded immediately. I will get someone else to service my gutters who does not steal my money.

We are an honest a reputable company that has been cleaning gutters for nearly 60 years now. On the initial phone call we indicated that the plan would automatically renew once the service plan was complete. The customer gave their authorization for this so we simply did what we thought they wanted us to do. We will follow up with the customer regarding this complaint.
