By way of a caveat, I will concede that businesses are very busy and keeping up with scheduling and services has been challenging.

With that said I stand by my (1) star rating for my experience with Ned Stevens Gut Cleaning & General Contracting for the following reasons:

1. Called to schedule cleaning and repair. The operator indicated it would be about 3 days and that they would be out that Monday as they did not work on Sat or Sun. Couple of weeks go with numerous follow up calls and was told on last call they were in route. [Friday] but then were a no show however they did show up bright and early that Saturday [which they told me they did not work when I had originally called. Ok, will let that slide as just poor communication.

2. Two gentlemen showed but we had a language barrier so I could not communication the need that repairs were needed on the gutters- I tried to point but it got lost in translation. We had just purchased the home and there was deferred maintenance specifically with gutter being a focus. The crew was here no more than 15 minutes tops. They used my hose to as guy on ground followed guy on roof as he picked up the leaves and then they left.

3. I called the company as they handed me the orange door tag “Your Service is Complete But We Found An Issue. Please call for details”.
I called as the 2 guys were still loading their ladder and explained I was under the impression that cleaning also included light repair [which was not the case here]. So was anticipating a follow up crew for repairs. The operator said the report indicated the gutters were fine but the roof had mold.
RED FLAG: no way was there a report [if one even existed ]since the guys were still packing up. I stopped him and said I am not interested in a roof cleaning but in repairing the gutters. We had ice dams over the winter and we have real issues with the gutters. He then proceeded to tell me my gutters were fine and the ice dam had nothing to do with the gutters. Again, I stopped the conversation and informed him several of my downspouts were not even strapped to the house and high winds have taken them down multiple times. Further there are areas of the gutters that are not pitched correctly do to excessive leaf weight [from years of deferred maintenance] so do not drain and there are sections were the nails were pulled away for the fascia leaving gaps up to .5-1 inch in some areas.

Bottom line: Ned Steven missed the marked on the additional work we were looking to do in repairing or replacing our gutters. Trust is a valued commodity more then ever these days – I’ve no trust in this company.
