I am not a person who likes writing negative reviews. However, I have to share my terrible experience with Ned Stevens in MA. I wish you can read the review before making a decision.

First, TIMELINESS: On Jan 6th, 2021 Ned Stevens called me for the gutter cleaning job I inquired at Home Advisor and arranged the service for me. The sales told me that they will come and the clean the gutter as soon as the weather permits. Nobody showed up in two weeks which had very calm weather (no snow or rain or gusts) I called back and was told that the gutter cleaning would be done until late February. I asked for the manager and got a return call from him: Weather permits means , not just the calm weather, it means 38 degree and above. Fortunately, he put me on a date on Jan 22nd which is above 38 degree. This 38 degree criteria is not disclosed by the sales, not shown on their website, not disclosed by the customer service. It is just the manager’s hidden policy.

Second, PRICE: When the sales contacted me, I gave all the house information she asked: how many stories, the square footage, the year, the address and etc. The sales even checked the satellite image map of the house before giving me the quote of $480 with the first time customer discount. However, on the day when the gutter cleaning team showed up, I got a call from the manager that he can not honor the quote of $480 and had to charge me $700 for the job because my house looks beautiful. Later on he lowed it to $630 after my protest. What a bait and switch! $150 more only because my house looks beautiful?

Third, QUALITY: I am attaching a picture I took on the day they finished their job. You can see needle and leaves still in the gutter. They put the leaves in the trash bags and left them on the curbside in a town without curbside trash collection.

I am a first time customer of Ned Stevens and will probably be the last time customer too. The only thing they brag about is that their workers have insurance. Ned Stevens may have better service in other states but not in Massachusetts.
